The cigars were created to honour one of Canada’s most famous and conspiracy-riddled aeronautical achievements, the Avro Canada CF-105 Arrow. Designed and built in Canada, the Avro Arrow was capable of reaching Mach 2 speeds and developed to intercept Soviet nuclear bombers during the Cold War. It debuted in 1957 with the promise to put Canada at the forefront of military aviation technology, but the program was canceled just two years later under Prime Minister John Diefenbaker, with all prototypes and production lines destroyed.
