The Matilde Special Edition is a 6 x 50 toro featuring an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and a filler blend comprised of tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and, for the first time in Matilde’s history, Peru. This marks the debut of Peruvian tobacco in one of the brand’s blends. Production takes place at the Tabacalera La Isla factory in Santiago, Dominican Republic. The initial release is limited to just 5,000 cigars.

Enrique Seijas, founder of Matilde Cigar Co., explained that his decision to include Peruvian tobacco was inspired by his father, José Seijas, who enjoyed cigars containing Peruvian leaf. The elder Seijas previously managed the vast Tabacalera de García factory, which manufactures cigars for Altadis U.S.A. Size: Toro 6 x 50. Note: these are now shipping in plain packaging.
