Using the finest natural ingredients the Benromach 3 distillers orchestrate every second of the distillation process; there are no short cuts to perfection. They make it this way to give their whisky that gorgeous pre-1960s Speyside character: beautifully balanced with a light touch of smoke. Making whisky by hand is a rare craft these days.

Their Scottish barley is grown locally and malted with a little peat smoke to their exact specifications. The pure soft water rises in the Chapelton Spring in the Romach Hills, just a couple of miles behind the Distillery. Together with the traditional use of both brewer’s and distiller’s yeast, these are the raw ingredients for making their single malt whisky.

Every process is just as considered in the making of our malt. It means they make less whisky, but they do it in this way in order to create Benromach’s gorgeous classic pre-1960s Speyside character: beautifully balanced with a light touch of smoke. About your Glencairn glass – Raymond Davidson of Glencairn Crystal took it upon himself to design a glass specifically for the whisky/scotch drinker. He envisioned a glass similar to a traditional sherry nosing copita that would encourage the user to appreciate the ‘nose’ of the whisky or scotch as well as the palate but would be robust and functional in a bar environment.
