About Alec Bradley Cigars
Alec Bradley Cigars was founded in 1996 by Alan Rubin, a Florida entrepreneur who named the company after his two sons, Alec and Bradley. At the time, the cigar industry was experiencing a decline following the 1990s cigar boom. Rubin’s initial foray into the market involved creating flavored cigars aimed at after-dinner enjoyment, but these efforts did not achieve significant success. Undeterred, Rubin partnered with industry professional Ralph Montero in 2000, leading to the development of the “Occidental Reserve” line, which marked a turning point for the company.
The company’s breakthrough came in 2007 with the introduction of the “Tempus” line, a full-bodied cigar that garnered critical acclaim and established Alec Bradley as a prominent name in the industry. This success was followed by the release of the “Prensado” line in 2011, which earned the coveted Cigar Aficionado #1 Cigar of the Year award, further elevating the brand’s reputation.
In 2018, Alan’s sons, Alec and Bradley, became more involved in the business, launching their own line of cigars under the “Alec & Bradley” brand. Their debut blend, “Blind Faith,” was followed by collaborations such as “Gatekeeper” with E.P. Carrillo and “Kintsugi,” showcasing their unique approach to blending and branding.
Today, Alec Bradley Cigars continues to produce a diverse range of premium cigars, including lines like “Black Market,” “Magic Toast,” and “Project 40.” The company has expanded its reach globally, with production facilities in Honduras, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic, and remains a family-owned business committed to quality and innovation in the cigar industry.
