Description
“Undercrown Shade” marks the first release blended by Drew Estate Master Blender Willy Herrera not to fall under the Herrera Estelí brand family. Herrera’s continued involvement in blending and brand development within Drew Estate is evident with this new blend, as Herrera worked extensively with the Undercrown roller team who blended the original Undercrown line to develop this new Connecticut blend.
Drew Estate Undercrown Shade Robusto features an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, Sumatran binder, as well as Dominican Criollo 98 and Nicaraguan Criollo & Corojo fillers. The blend is medium-bodied, lush & ultra-smooth, flavours that only a shade grown wrapper can deliver. Size: Gran Toro 6 x 52. Note: these are now shipping in plain packaging.
About Drew Estate Cigars
Drew Estate, a renowned name in the world of premium cigars, has carved a distinctive niche for itself with its innovative approach and commitment to quality. Founded in 1996 by Jonathan Drew and Marvin Samel, the company started in a rather unconventional way, crafting cigars in a small warehouse in New York City’s Brooklyn neighbourhood. This urban setting became the backdrop for Drew Estate’s unique blend of traditional craftsmanship and urban flair.
One of the hallmarks of Drew Estate’s success is their relentless pursuit of creativity and experimentation in the cigar-making process. This commitment is exemplified by their infusion of various flavours into their cigars, a practice that sets them apart in the industry. The Acid line, a flagship series within their portfolio, showcases this bold approach, offering a diverse array of flavours that range from sweet and fruity to rich and spicy. This infusion technique, while initially met with skepticism, has gained widespread acclaim and attracted a new generation of cigar enthusiasts who appreciate the unexpected complexity and diversity of these blends.
The Liga Privada series, another crown jewel in the Drew Estate collection, has become synonymous with excellence and craftsmanship. Produced in limited quantities, Liga Privada cigars are meticulously handcrafted by a select group of skilled torcedores, ensuring the utmost attention to detail. The result is a line of cigars that consistently receives high praise for its rich, full-bodied flavour profile and impeccable construction. The Liga Privada No. 9, in particular, stands out as a cigar aficionado’s delight, with its dark and oily Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper enveloping a meticulously blended combination of Nicaraguan and Honduran tobaccos.
Drew Estate’s commitment to quality extends beyond their premium tobacco blends to their cutting-edge manufacturing techniques. The company has embraced innovation, employing modern methods such as coffee infusion, air-curing or fire-curing tobaccos, as well as experimenting with diverse aging processes. This forward-thinking approach has allowed Drew Estate to create cigars that appeal to a broad spectrum of tastes, from the seasoned connoisseur to the adventurous novice.
The company’s dedication to the craft is evident not only in their exceptional cigars but also in their commitment to community and social responsibility. Drew Estate has been involved in various charitable initiatives, supporting local communities where their cigars are made and contributing to causes that align with their values. This socially conscious approach has endeared Drew Estate to not only cigar enthusiasts but also those who appreciate businesses that prioritize making a positive impact.
In conclusion, Drew Estate cigars stand as a testament to the marriage of tradition and innovation in the world of premium cigars. From their humble beginnings in a Brooklyn warehouse to their current status as a leading name in the industry, Drew Estate has consistently pushed boundaries, redefining the expectations of cigar enthusiasts worldwide. With a diverse range of offerings that cater to a spectrum of palates, coupled with their unwavering commitment to quality and community, Drew Estate continues to be a force to be reckoned with in the ever-evolving world of cigars.
