Description

The Hoyo de Monterrey Petit Robusto is a compact yet flavourful Cuban cigar that delivers a rich smoking experience in a shorter format. Measuring approximately 4 inches (102 mm) in length with a 50 ring gauge, this petit robusto offers the classic balance and refinement associated with the Hoyo de Monterrey brand. Crafted entirely from Cuban tobacco for the wrapper, binder, and filler, it reflects the traditional character of the famed Vuelta Abajo growing region.

Visually, the cigar typically features a smooth, slightly rustic wrapper with a firm roll and well-formed cap. Its stout proportions create a comfortable feel in the hand and a generous draw that produces thick, aromatic smoke. Despite its smaller size, the cigar burns steadily and provides a satisfying smoking time of roughly 40 to 45 minutes.

The flavour profile begins with notes of earth, pepper, and cocoa, quickly developing into a layered mix of cedar, roasted nuts, and subtle spice. As the smoke progresses, the character becomes creamier, with hints of cinnamon, vanilla, and toasted sweetness appearing in the middle stages. The final third intensifies with deeper woody tones and a balanced, medium-bodied finish that remains smooth and flavourful without becoming overpowering.

The Hoyo de Monterrey Petit Robusto is admired for delivering classic Cuban complexity in a convenient size. Ideal for smokers seeking a shorter yet satisfying cigar, it offers elegance, balance, and a memorable flavour journey from first light to final draw. Size: 4 x 50. Note: these are now shipping in plain packaging with the authentic band underneath the plain band.

About Hoyo de Monterrey

The Hoyo de Monterrey brand takes its name from a famous Cuban farm of the same name, located in San Juan y Martínez in Vuelta Abajo, Cuba’s finest tobacco-producing region. Cuba’s José Gener registered the Hoyo de Monterrey brand in 1865 and the cigar has long been a major name in Cuban cigars. The brand is named after the Basin of Monterrey, which refers to a fertile plantation bought by tobacco grower José Gener in 1860 that’s located on a river’s edge in the Vuelta Abajo region of Cuba.
