About Room 101 Cigars
Room101 Cigars began as an unexpected collision between two seemingly different worlds: luxury jewelry and premium tobacco. Founded by Matt Booth, a Los Angeles-based jewelry designer known for his edgy, alternative aesthetic, the brand first gained recognition in the fashion and music scenes with bold, handcrafted silver pieces. Booth’s creative instincts eventually led him into the cigar industry in 2009, when he partnered with Camacho Cigars, then owned by the Eiroa family. This collaboration allowed him to bring his unique artistic vision into the world of premium cigars, where branding and storytelling became as important as the tobacco itself.
From the beginning, Room101 Cigars stood apart. Booth infused the brand with Japanese-inspired themes, military influences from his own service background, and an irreverent, modern style that challenged the conservative traditions of the cigar world. The early blends were produced in Honduras and gained immediate attention for their unconventional presentation and marketing, drawing in both seasoned smokers and younger enthusiasts looking for something fresh.
After Camacho was acquired by Davidoff, Booth continued producing Room101 under their umbrella until 2017, when he briefly stepped away from the cigar business to refocus on his jewelry line. His departure was short-lived, as his passion for tobacco reignited and led to his return in 2019, this time as an independent force. Partnering with factories in Honduras, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic, he expanded the Room101 portfolio with innovative blends and limited editions that reflected his evolving creative vision.
Today, Room101 Cigars embodies Booth’s philosophy of merging artistry, storytelling, and craftsmanship. More than just cigars, they represent a lifestyle brand—bold, expressive, and unafraid to push boundaries—cementing Room101 as one of the most distinctive names in modern cigar culture.
