Cigar of the Week: Flor De Copan Belicoso
This is one of the best selling Belicosos at Victory Cigars. It has a fantastic appearance, a delicate wrapper and a light flavour – yet it’s a big cigar! This would likely be Tony Soprano’s ideal breakfast cigar – a man-sized stogie that is not overpowering.
Flor de Copan cigars are made by hand in Santa Rosa de Copan, Honduras. This hillside region is where Mayan Indians once grew tobacco and it remains a key tobacco-farming region in Honduras. The tobacco used for these cigars is of Cuban origin (Vuelta Abajo region), brought to Honduras in 1962 and since grown in Santa Rosa, El Paraiso and Santa Barbara. The cigars are made in the Flor de Copan cigar factory which also produces the Santa Rosa line. Output of the factory is a staggering 20 million sticks per year.
The Flor de Copan Belicoso is distinguished by its highly attractive packaging; cedar-wrapping, red, black and gold accents, and a gold rose emblem – the “Mark of Distinction”. Thsee natural cigars feature an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper with light spice and wood flavours.
This cigar has a mild body and smooth taste. It’s ideal for casual smokers, early morning smokers or anyone who wants to enjoy a fine cigar without being overwhelmed by strength. And at $11.35, you won’t be overwhelmed by the price!
Cigar of the Month – August 2012
To recognize the launch of new cigars by VegaFina we have designated August 2012 as “VegaFina Month” at Victory Cigars. VegaFina’s extraordinary yet affordable cigars have become one of the most sought-after cigars in Europe; now you can enjoy them without the need for a passport! Handcrafted at the famous Tabacalera de Garcia factory, VegaFina cigars boast a luxurious, hand-selected Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper and a flavourful combination of Dominican, Colombian and Honduran long filler tobaccos swaddled in an Indonesian binder. They are a distinctly smooth, aromatic blend with a medium body that is considered a true connoisseur’s smoke.
The cigar is available in two formats: Corona Tubos (43 x 5 ¾) and Robusto (5 x 50). The prices for these cigars are $7.91 and $7.20 respectively. We also have a special VegaFina offer: you can win a VegaFina humidor this month by completing a ballot in-store; no purchase is necessary to enter.
