New Products
This week’s new items include some beautiful Siglo porcelain ashtrays, perfect for Cuban cigar lovers. We also have some new pipe McClelland pipe tobaccos: Avenue TQ (notes of chocolate and toffee) as well as Dark English (a Latakia lover’s dream). Partagas and Quintero puritos are now available, as are wooden cigar holders for those who prefer not to have to deal with tobacco bits from the cut end of the cigar. In the accessories department we now have a beautiful line of cufflinks.
We are awaiting a shipment of the Summer of 69 cigar bundles and will notify you as soon as they arrive. Also, small format Cuban cigars, like the Montecristo or Romeo y Julieta Clubs are still not being shipped from Cuba; we hope this situation resolves itself soon. Lastly, the lighters are now in for those who attended the Rocky Patel event.

Cigar of the Week: VegaFina Fortaleza 2 Robusto
Most Dominican cigars have a light to medium flavour profile but there are always exceptions to any rule; this cigar is the exception. The VegaFina Fortaleza 2 is produced in Tabacalera Garcia under the direction of Master Blender Jose Seijas. This cigar is noted for the care and quality in manufacturing that provides an excellent draw, burn and smoke. The wrapper, from Criollo seeds, covers a perfect binder hand-rolled with Dominican Olor and Piloto Ligero. With this new line, VegaFina created a cigar that combines sweet flavours with cinnamon and vanilla hints. As it burns, the cigar builds to a spicy finish; consequently, the cigar ranks in the medium-full strength range.
The featured robusto is 50 x 5 and comes either naked or in an aluminum tube. Prices for the cigars are: Robusto $11.35, and Robusto Tubo $13.50. Please note that in keeping with our product launch, these cigars will not be available until Wednesday August 1st (hey, at least they’re in time for the long weekend!)
Cigar of the Month – August 2012
August already! And that means it’s time to select a new cigar of the month. Our selection is a wonderful cigar line by the Dominican Republic’s VegaFina. These extraordinary yet affordable cigars have become one of the most sought-after cigars in Europe; now you can enjoy them without the need for a passport!
Handcrafted at the famous Tabacalera de Garcia factory and rolled under the guidance of renowned blender Jose Seijas, VegaFina cigars boast a luxurious, hand-selected Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper and a flavourful combination of Dominican, Colombian and Honduran long filler tobaccos swaddled in an Indonesian binder. This may be the worldliest cigar you ever smoke! They are a distinctly smooth, aromatic blend with a medium body that is considered a true connoisseur’s smoke. The cigar is available in two formats: Corona Tubos (43 x 5 ¾) and Robusto (5 x 50). The prices for these cigars are $7.91 and $7.20 respectively.
Pipe Night
Our next Pipe Night is Wednesday August 22nd, 2012. Tickets for this event are $10 including HST; check out all the goodies! Every guest will receive a leather zippered tobacco pouch, with a horse nail, pipe cleaners and tobacco sample encased in a commemorative metal Brigham tin. There will also be a BBQ, soft drinks and coffee. All pipes and accessories will be 25% off during the event, which runs from 6-9 p.m. Tickets are on sale now!
