New for Pipe Smokers
We have a couple of new McClelland blends in stock: Christmas Cheer 2012 and Deep Hollow. Christmas Cheer is a flake that is hand-blended from premium pressed Virginia pipe tobaccos. This fine vintage is naturally sweet and quantities are limited. JRR Tolkien served as the inspiration for our second McClelland blend, Deep Hollow. Rich Red Stoved Virginias are the basis for this mild tobacco.
Rough cut pipes are also now available at Victory Cigars. Have you always wanted to carve your own pipe, but felt daunted by the lathe work necessary to ream the bowl and fit the shank? These pipes have the hard parts already done. Rough briar blocks with pre-drilled bows and shanks and professionally fitted stems are now in stock. All that’s left is for you to carve the bowl to your desired shape. Makes a great Christmas gift for the pipe smoker, especially if that person enjoys woodworking or carving as a hobby.

There will also be in-store specials that day, and we anticipate a few special guests will stop by … hope you can make it!
New This Week: Bar Glassware and Hard Ice
We have selected a new line of premium bar accessories just in time for Christmas. The line includes a unique Scotch tumbler called the Rock Glass; it is engineered to be unique. The bottom of the glass has an outcropping called the Rock which creates a natural liquid motion that enhances the aroma of the Scotch, thus improving the nosing experience.
If you like to chill your malt there is also a patented Ice Ball. Simply fill the included silicone mould and put in the freezer to make a single solid ice ball that outlasts traditional ice cubes. It naturally chills the Scotch by rolling. The shape of the glass makes rolling easy without spilling. A slight hand movement rolls the ice ball around the Rock evenly and cools your favourite Scotch, whiskey or liquor to perfection. This glass was featured in the recent LCBO Holiday Guide; you can get it now at Victory Cigars! Holds up to 8oz of your favorite scotch, whiskey or liquor; Glass dimensions are 3.5 H x 3.5 in W (9 x 9cm). Glasses are packaged singly and cost $15.00.
We also have a new selection of Port sippers. These are glasses with a built-in glass straw; they are incredibly unique and make an interesting gift! Each tulip-shaped glass has legs on the base and a pipe-like straw that curls upward to allow for proper dispensation of Port. Boxed in quantities of 4 they cost $29.99 per set.
If Cognac is your tipple of choice you will love our snifters. They are angled to maximize the surface area of the liquid, giving more area for the aroma to develop in the glass. They also have a sculpted dimple rising from the bottom of the glass to enhance the mixing when the liquid is swirled in the glass. They come in sets of 2 for $24.99.
We are excited about Hard Ice, a set of stainless steel ice cubes. These cubes are 1” on each side and come in trays of 8. The cubes are filled with a non-toxic gel that promotes rapid cooling of the steel. Once you place them in the freezer they cool rapidly. The true genius of the design is apparent when you put them into your favourite single malt; they chill the Scotch without diluting it! Each set, which costs $39.99, comes with a set of cube tongs and a silicone cube tray.
Cigar of the Week: Partagas Serie E No. 2
The celebrated Partagas brand was created in 1845. Its vitolas have been historically praised by smokers who like intense notes. Within this brand, Partagas Series blends are ranked among the most acclaimed by experts. For example, the Partagas Serie P No. 2 was #4 in the Top 25 Cigars of the Year for 2011. Partagas Series E No. 2 was launched by Habanos in 2011 and is a contender to be one of those history-making Habanos.
The new Partagas stands out for being the first 54 ring gauge cigar in the lineup, as well as having a new design in its packaging. A new and elegant inner cover overlies the cigars and an outer red-and-black paper cover represents the Partagas Series. As with all Partagas Serie version, the E has the same smooth, Cuban taste. The blend is made of handpicked tobacco leaves from the Vuelta Abajo; these leaves possess unrivaled richness and aroma. This week we have had some good weather; we might even call this big cigar weather. If you want to try this week’s feature cigar, the 54 x 5.5 Partagas Serie E No. 2, you can get it for $26.84.
Cigar of the Month November 2012: Montana Azul Nicaraguan Panatela Bundle
These Nicaraguan panatelas are affectionately known as “dog walkers” by many of our clients. The panatelas are 4.5” long with a 30 ring gauge (about the diameter of a thick pencil), making them a quick smoke. This is helpful for those days when you want to enjoy a cigar but find that the weather is not cooperating. These panatelas can be finished in the time it takes you to walk your best friend, hence the nickname. The tobacco is all-Nicaraguan and each stick is finished with a nice maduro wrapper. The flavour profile is medium. We wanted to bring you something nice for November because it’s our anniversary on the 20th; this panatela bundle fits the bill. This stick comes from the same people that supply the Summer of 69 bundles so you can be sure the bundle is of good quality. The feature price for the bundle of 25 panatelas is $29.99 for the month of November.
