Casa Turrent 1900 Series Cigar Sampler Pack

$50.99

Three robustos that honour the legendary makers of San Andres tobacco, the Turrent family.

Description

The Turrent family has been creating some of the world’s greatest tobacco for five generations – it’s almost certain that you’ve smoked it in your favourite cigars. Montecristo, Rocky Patel, CAO, Padilla, La Aroma de Cuba, Macanudo, Alec Bradley, La Flor Dominicana, Camacho and many others have recently used the highly sought after Turrent-farmed San Andres tobacco as central components in their top-tier cigars. The Turrent family not only grows the tobacco from the seed up, they also carefully select the best of the crop to create their own cigars. Alejandro Turrent has brought this craft to a new level over the past decade and his achievements have caught the attention of cigar lovers the world over.

This sampler lets you experience the nineteen hundred series of cigars, crafted to honour Alejandro Turrent, his father and his grandfather. This box-pressed cigar series uses the three men’s birth years to signify each respective cigar, and includes the 1973, 1942 and 1901 respectively.

Casa Turrent 1973 Robusto

The 1973 is named for the birth year of Alejandro Turrent. It is a cigar that departs from what one might expect given the predominance of San Andres tobacco in the blend. The secret is the double helping of Criollo which starts the smoke off with strong notes of pepper and spice, settling down over time to perfectly complement the overall oak and leather flavour profile. Size: Robusto 5.25 x 50 Box Pressed. Rated 89 by Cigar Aficionado. Note: these are now shipping in plain packaging.

  • Filler: San Andres Criollo and Nicaraguan
  • Binder: Nicaraguan
  • Wrapper: San Andres Criollo

Casa Turrent 1942 Robusto

The 1942 honours the birth year of Alejandro Turrent’s father Alberto, a legend in the cigar business. This medium-bodied cigar with a San Andres Colorado wrapper derives its complexity from the Criollo binder and Nicaraguan filler, a blend that puts it between the 1901 and 1973 along the flavour spectrum. Size: Robusto 5.25 x 50. Rated 90 by Cigar Aficionado Magazine. Note: these are now shipping in plain packaging.

  • Filler: San Andres Negro and Nicaraguan
  • Binder: San Andres Criollo
  • Wrapper: San Andres Negro Colorado

Casa Turrent 1901 Robusto

The jewel of the series is the cigar crafted to honour Alejandro Turrent’s grandfather. This box-pressed robusto is a medium-bodied cigar wrapped in the Mexican San Andres wrapper that is so popular with cigar lovers.  It’s got hints of sweet cedar, leather, and mellow pepper. The Casa Turrent Serie 1901 Robusto received an astounding 94-rating in Cigar Aficionado Magazine, with the reviewers noting: “Each puff envelops the palate with cocoa powder and coffee before a sweet, luxurious finish redolent of caramel and black cherry.” Size: Robusto 5 1/4 x 50. Note: these are now shipping in plain packaging.
