Nice cigar. Burns nice & evenly. Doesn’t have to be re-lit. Nice flavour.

In my review of the Quorum Classic Robusto from over a year ago, I said I’d try the Corona. Mostly I smoke 50 ring gauge sticks. Recently I’ve been leaning towards skinnier smokes, coronas, lanceros, etc. With that in mind I took advantage of Victory’s recent “10% off everything offer” and picked up a couple of these along with two Kristoff Connecticut Coronas, and a couple of premium Cigar Aficionado 2021 Top Twenties, the No. 4 and the No. 9.
I smoked the first of the Quorums today.
The plus was that it lit up nicely, had an easy draw, and produced plenty of smoke.
The minus was construction. My v-cutter made an accurate cut but detached all of the cap. I found a diamond shaped patch under the band holding the wrapper on, and there were other cracks in the wrapper.
Despite all of this it smoked fairly well until the last third when it started to fall apart. As well as this I noticed that the last bit was not at all well packed and became quite squishy between my fingers. At this point I gave up. As a consequence of the loose packing and light draw it ended up a very quick smoke.
I haven’t yet looked at the other one but will report on that after I’ve smoked it. I’m giving this one 2 stars. I hope to give the next one 3 or more.
The Robustos have been generally OK though variable so, for now, I’m going to assume that this particular stick was an outlier that somehow was not caught by quality control.

I’m giving this, my second Quorum Classic Corona, a three. This one looked OK, had no apparent flaws, and smoked well through the first two thirds. I cut this one with my straight cutter unfortunately taking off most of the cap. In the last third, the wrapper cracked in a few places though this did not affect the burn which was even throughout. The cigar stayed firm, no squishiness, right to the end. Smoking time: 45 minutes.
The plus was the mostly decent behaviour, easy draw, and plentiful smoke.
The minus was mainly aesthetics.
I’d hoped to give this one a four but it will have to be a three.
Still not a bad smoke for the price and for a short-filler stick but I think I’ll stick with the Robustos with which I’ve had a generally better experience.

Note: these cigars wear their original bands hidden under the ridiculous “plain packaging” bands mandated by our ridiculous “nanny state” federal government.
